The “Innovacelli”  Barometer finds its audience at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, China.

The World Expo 2010 in the economic heart of Asia has not missed his start. Huge numbers of visitors, to 400.000  a day (!),find their way to the Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The Chinese national pavilion is obviously the biggest attraction. The impressive building is the obvious recognizable symbol of the Expo.

“ Dingens Barometers and Clocks ” is an official partner of the “Belgian – EU” pavilion.

But also the “Belgian – European” pavilion stands in fourth place of the most popular pavilions ., Belgium scores very well with the massive brain cell  . The brain cell is the only commodity for which Belgium is rich: innovation. Many high-tech developments by companies and universities are central to the science department. It also includes the new “Innovacelli” Barometer. “Dingens Barometers & Clocks” becames now also an official partner of the “Belgian-European” pavilion. In the shop of the pavilion, the thermometers and barometers from Dingens are sold to the Chinese visitors.

During the "Limburg-week" (May 17 to 21) , a one week's business event was organized by LRM  to put  Limburg as a business location in the forefront. Several technical developments were presented during presentations on various topics such as health, environment, etc. On May 19 “ Dingens  Barometers  & Clocks ” got the chance to propose the new development during a presentation at the "Healtcare and life science – days”. A unique opportunity to explain in this specialized world the possibilities of the new product. Because of the high accuracy of the new product , Dingens will develop custom models for the professional user.

 
The first “Innovacelli” Barometer for Minister President Peeters.

Minister President Kris Peeters accompanied the Belgian delegation of “ Flanders Investment and Trade” for one week, perched near Shanghai. The support and attention that the Minister President gave to the existing businesses was very encouraging. Between the mega-farms, some SMEs that the move to trade with China would continue.

As the official partner of the “Belgian – EU” pavilion , Dingens had the opportunity to offer to the Minister President the first “Innovacelli” Barometer, which goes into production . This special moment took place during the Flemish day May 24 . The Minister President could appreciate the “Innovacelli” and was considering the product as an example of creativity and entrepreneurship with which we as small region could differentiate.

 

Barometers Design

Sustainable use of resources ..

Frans Van Praet (b. 1937), architect and icon of the Belgian designer, developed a barometer which indicates his impression of the use of natural resources. In parallel with the shape of a boomerang , also a barometer is an ecological and sustainable property, without use of energy. It makes use of simple natural laws to be of service to mankind. Both products are part of a cultural heritage of their region.


Frans Van Praet recycles crushed rubber tires for finishing his object. This leads to a new and very useful resistant finish of the item. The barometer will be exhibited at the World Expo 2010. In autumn 2010, the new barometer will exist in different versions for sale.
